About Martina
Martina is a practitioner of The Bowen Technique. She trained under Paula Esson ECBS (European College of Bowen Studies). Final level assessment was taken with Julian Baker ECBS.
Martina has experience of treating clients with a variety of conditions, and range in age from a newborn baby 8 hours old to a man of 74 years of age. Martina feels very passionate when practising The Bowen Technique and this enthusiasm is noted by many clients.
How/why Martina trained as a Bowen Therapist?
Martina has a Computing Degree and Adult Teaching qualification. Whilst studying at University Martina was struck down with the chronic debilitating conditions Fibromyalgia and Spondylosis. Martina struggled to finish her degree due to poor mobility, dexterity problems, chronic fatigue, chronic pain, memory loss, poor concentration, insomnia and side effects of medication.
After graduating, Martina was unable to work. Her health continued to deteriorate and she was in a never ending cycle of chronic pain and fatigue. When symptoms peaked her legs would give way or sometimes not work at all. During times of bad flare-ups Martina used a wheelchair as an aid to getting about.
As modern medicine wasn’t helping to manage
or reverse her health problems, Martina turned to
Homeopathy, Bowen, Meditation and The Angels. Homeopathy
helped address healing on an emotional level, Bowen
on a physical level, Meditation and The Angels on
a spiritual level.
Martina had a course of treatments. After 5 initial
treatments Martina found that some of the symptoms
temporarily improved and other symptoms were completely
resolved. Although Bowen wasn’t a miracle cure
for everything, if given a monthly treatment, it managed
the condition better than modern drugs without the
side effects. This is the reason Martina trained in
The Bowen Technique as she knows first hand that it
works.
After the last chronic flare-up, Martina felt there
was still a missing piece in the puzzle to curing
her health problems. However, as everything operates
according to the Universal Laws of Divine Timing Martina
knew that certain pieces of the puzzle would have
to fall into place before the other parts would come
to fruition. What she realised was that the numerous
messages she had been receiving from The Angelic Realm
were all guiding her towards nutrition and food intolerances.
After going to a talk given by the nutritionist Patrick
Holford, Martina knew that nutrition was the missing
piece. However, finances were an issue as Martina
didn’t have the money to see a nutritionist
or pay over £200 for a food intolerance test.
To bring finances into the pot, Martina trusted The
Universe would provide and so threw the problem up
to the Angels. A few weeks later, the money came.
After 3 months of being on a program with a Nutritional
Therapist who identified food intolerances, vitamin
and mineral deficiencies as being the root cause of
her ill health, continuing on with Homeopathy, Bowen
and Meditation, Martina feels she is now well enough
to launch her own business and work part time.
Martina believes the Divine intervened by throwing
many obstacles, ill health, negative experiences,
negative energies, never ending disappointments, the
attraction of negative people who would readily take
but never give around her until she changed her outlook
on life.
Now Martina is practising a healing therapy, she
is surrounded by positive thinking like minded people
who freely give, many of whom also practise healing
therapies.
Martina doesn’t make claims about her having
the ability to cure conditions for her Clients. Her
personal experience is that modern medicine which
only treats symptoms and rarely gets to the root cause,
made little difference to improving her quality of
life or her health. However, the combination of Bowen,
Nutrition, Meditation and Homeopathy which all treat
the body as a whole are what did make a difference
and what Martina feels passionately about.
